About Change Alley

Change Alley, is a commercial property shopping mall to serve retail rental, sale, and other commercial purposes. Named after the Change Alley of London, where stockbrokers gathered, Change Alley is a collection of shops in the financial district of Raffles Place in the Downtown Core area of Singapore. Shops inside Change Alley deal in jewellery, food, fashion, and various services.

Change Alley houses several restaurants e.g. Mr Teh Tarik Cartel and Burger King Fast Food Restaurant, which are known for their tasty cuisines. Besides, Change Alley is within a stone’s throw distance to Cold Storage Supermarket, Capital Square, etc. for several amenities like banks, retail shopping and grocery.

Besides, there are schools nearby Change Alley to cater to the educational needs of the residents. Among these schools is FY Institute of Technology, Columbia Business School, and AusEd-UniEd Singapore Pte. Ltd.

There is a popular association for shopkeepers in the Change Alley called Change Alley Merchants Association. Due to several years of relating to tourists and seamen, the shopkeepers can transact business in different languages like broken Russian, Italian, English, and French.

The name of the Street is said to have derived its name from the money changers that used to frequent the area when seafarers and visitors arrived at the waterfront and headed to Raffles Place through the alley.

Meanwhile, Change Alley can be accessed from Fullerton Road, Collyer Quay, and Battery Road.

Change Alley is located near to Downtown (DT17) and Raffles Place (EW14/NS26) MRT Stations. It is also located near to several bus stops at AIA Tower, Fullerton Square, and Clifford Pier. Bus services include: 10, 10E, 57, 70, 75, 100, 107, 128, 130, 131, 162, 167, 196.
